Used to toggle a redstone circuit between two states: "on" (receiving pressure) and "off" (not receiving pressure).

When a player or creature steps on a pressure plate, or if an item is dropped on it, the pressure plate will send the "on" signal. When nothing is on the plate, it will send the "off" signal.
