Rails are tracks that minecart-based vehicles can move along.
Laying to rails next to each other will connect them automatically, even forming curves where necessary. Tracks can also connect to blocks that are one block higher, creating a slope.
T-intersections can be created, then the track can be switched by connecting a switch of some kind to a redstone circuit.
