Cactus is a naturally-occurring plant that grows only on sand that is not connected to water. Cacti do not need light to grow and are non-flammable.

Cacti inflict half a heart of damage when touched, so use caution when harvesting. The damaging property of a cactus can be used to create simple traps.

Cacti will damage any items that come into contact with them, and if a player (or mob) dies by cacti it is possible that their dropped items will be destroyed.
